Petrol and Diesel Prices Increase Again from February 1st

The prices of petrol and diesel may increase again from February 1st, 2025. According to media reports, the price of diesel may rise by 6 rupees per liter, while the price of petrol may increase by 3 rupees per liter.

Previous Price Increases in January

The government has already increased fuel prices twice in January 2025.

  1. From January 1st to January 15th:
    • Petrol price was increased by 3 rupees 47 paise per liter.
    • Diesel price was increased by 2 rupees 96 paise per liter.
  2. From January 16th to January 31st:
    • Petrol price was raised again by 56 paise per liter.
    • Diesel price was increased by 2 rupees 61 paise per liter.

If the expected price hike on February 1st happens, it will be the third increase in fuel prices within just one month.

Impact on the Public

The continuous increase in fuel prices will affect daily expenses for people, as petrol and diesel costs directly impact transportation, goods delivery, and overall living costs. Many people are worried that higher fuel prices will make other things more expensive, including food, transport fares, and basic necessities.

Government’s Role

The government adjusts petrol and diesel prices based on global oil rates and economic factors. However, many people are hoping that the government will find ways to reduce fuel prices to make life easier for common citizens.

Let’s see what decision the government takes on February 1st.
